Knee Injuries in Hakuba: Assessment & Treatment
A hard fall or twisting crash is one of the most common ways a ski or snowboard day ends early, and the knee usually takes the brunt of it. The first 24-48 hours make a real difference to how quickly you get back on snow.
WHAT WE CHECK FIRST:
We assess which structure is involved (ligament, meniscus, or patella), how unstable the knee is, and whether you need imaging urgently. Our physiotherapists have assessed knee injuries at FIS World Championship and Winter Olympic level.
YOUR OPTIONS, EXPLAINED CLEARLY:
We give a straight answer on whether you can keep skiing, whether a brace will let you finish your trip safely, or whether it's time to stop and protect the joint.
TREATMENT:
For sprains and strains we focus on reducing swelling, restoring movement, and building the knee back up. For a suspected ACL or meniscus tear, we explain what a referral home involves and set you up with an interim plan so the injury doesn't get worse.
