Hand, Wrist & Elbow Injuries in Hakuba
A fall onto an outstretched hand, a ski pole strap catching the thumb, or landing awkwardly off a jump - hand, wrist and elbow injuries are some of the most common we see, and some of the easiest to underestimate. A sprained thumb after a pole fall can actually be Skier's Thumb, a ligament injury that needs proper support to heal well. WHAT WE LOOK FOR: we check joint stability, grip strength, and specific ligament tests to work out whether you're dealing with a simple sprain, a ligament tear, or a fracture that needs imaging. Skier's Thumb is easy to miss on the mountain but matters a lot for how well the joint functions afterwards. TREATMENT: most wrist and hand sprains respond well to bracing, taping and a graded return to grip and load. For a suspected UCL elbow injury or a wrist fracture, we help you manage pain and protect the joint, with clear guidance on what needs specialist follow-up once you're home.
